TENITRA MICHELLE WILLIAMS is 20 years old. She says that being with Destinys child has been a blessing from GOD. Michelle was literally the right one at the right time to be in the group Destinys Child. She joined Destinys Child in January. She points out that not often that an aspiring singer joins a group that is all ready at the top of the charts and in the midst Of a big promotional blitzs. The Rockford III, native started singing in the church as a child [her first solo was Blessed Assurance at age 7or 8], and had always aspired to a career in show business. After high school, she studied criminal justice and accounting for two years at a college, but in the summer of 1999, took advantage of an opportunity of singing back up of Monica. She happened to meet Kelly and Beyonce in the lobby of an Atlanta Hotel. Moths later Beyonce asked an acquaintance if he knew anyone who could sing for a possible spot with Destinys Child, and the person referred her to Michelle.
